FAQ

Where does the coffee come from?

Our coffee is fair trade coffee that is imported from their individual companies and handled by our distributor's warehouse located in sunny Temecula, CA. The coffee we import is certified organic and 100% all-natural by the US FDA.

What makes your coffee "the freshest you can buy on the internet?"

On the day that your coffee is shipped, it is roasted, placed in the air-tight and sealed package for delivery, and sent your way. This process is considered to be a specialty, high quality roast coffee shop. Quality is important to us and we enjoy making this coffee for you to enjoy. No other coffee shop on the internet roasts the same day of shipping. We checked.

How should I store my coffee beans to extend its shelf life?

Coffee degrades over time but degrades at faster rates depending on the surface area size of the bean. Airtight containers are the absolute best for storing coffee because it can keep out moisture and contaminates the best. If you want to extend them even further, place the airtight container in the freezer.

Do you have decaf coffee?

We currently have one decaf flavor, Power Your Career Decaf, which has no caffeine content. The caffeine is filtered out using the Swiss Water process. The Swiss Water process begins with green coffee beans. The unroasted green beans are hydrated in water and soak for 1 day in order to remove dirt, dust, and silverskin. Next, the green beans create a green coffee extract using water the beans soak in and water-soluble solids that are a waste byproduct of the green beans 1 day soak. By soaking for an extended period of time in this crucial step, the green beans are then slowly, but continuously circulating around the barrel for an additional 10 hours. The circulation of the green beans causes caffeine to be removed using a proprietary carbon filtration system. Lastly, during the circulation period, we check the green coffee extract water to ensure it is refreshed, recycled, and renewed. Each green coffee extract water is reduced, reused, and recycled in another batch, ultimately reducing the wasted byproducts of our process. Once the green beans have completed this 2 day cycle, they are removed from the water, dried using solar powered dryers, roasted the morning of order, then bagged and shipped for your pleasure.

How much is shipping?

Shipping within the United States is FREE. We struck a jackpot with the USPS and are able to provide it free to all United States residents, including US territories. International shipping rates are determined at the time of shipping by comparing to the USPS' cheapest international shipping.

Do you ship internationally?

Unfortunately, we are only shipping to Canada and Mexico in terms of international shipping.

How long will it take my package to get here?

It takes 2-3 business days to process standard payments. After payment processing, it takes an additional 3 days. Every order is roasted the morning of shipping and mailed by 12PM EST. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, shipping times are delayed. As per USPS' guidelines, you can expect a 2-4 business day delay.

I ordered more than 1 bag of coffee and only received half of my order. Where is the other half?

Chances are more than likely the other half of your order is coming from our second warehouse, where we keep our coffees at separate ends depending on the type. If you ordered a colored bag and a black bag, it will take a small difference to ship both. We blend in house with natural and artificial flavoring and keep them separated to prevent cross contamination!

What is the hole in my coffee bag?

The hole in the bag at the top is a one-way valve. It lets the coffee aroma seep through while preventing oxygen, moisture, and light getting through. This is how we keep it fresh during shipment and fresh in your house for storage.

Can I cancel my order once it is placed?

Due to our distributor, all orders placed are immediately processed. Please notify us within 12-24 hours of purchase if you'd like to cancel the order.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept Credit Cards, Debit Cards, PayPal etc.

How safe is my personal information?

Our site uses a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol to encrypt all personal information sent during the checkout process. For more information on how we secure and use your information, please consult our Privacy Policy.

What is The Coffee Trust charity about?

The Coffee Trust is a charity tailored to helping indigenous coffee farmers improve their agricultural practices, diversify their income, and raise healthy families. By establishing projects such as the Women’s Savings & Microcredit program and the Education & Scholarship program, we’re determined to assist the indigenous population into becoming a sustainable society. By purchasing Grinding Coffee Co. branded merchandise (hats, mugs, shirts, etc), portions of the proceeds are directly donated to the charity in order to fund these projects. This includes t-shirts, mugs, hats, and other items. Our special Guatemalan coffee also has 50% of the proceeds donated to the charity to give back. We believe in helping those who believe in us. As a company, we are grateful for them and thankful for this wonderful opportunity.
